Last month, Yellowbox completed the retrofit (replacement of key locks) of the lockers within AICD’s Head Office in Sydney.
The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) is the peak organisation representing the interests of company directors in Australia, with over 200 employees. The upgrade of the existing lockers was an integral part of the Sydney Headquarters’ Smart Office transformation to meet the needs of the new hybrid and flexible working environment.
AICD previously maintained a key based locker system, which required significant administration resources: to manage providing and retrieving keys from new/exiting employees, manually track allocated keys, and calling in the locksmith every month to replace locks which had their keys lost.
The key based system was also unable to support a hot locker system, which would allow staff to book a temporary locker for the day.
Yellowbox provided a system that automated the onboarding and off-boarding of employees through an identity synchronisation integration. This was easily managed through the Yellowbox Web Dashboard, including the setting of permanent lockers for employees and leaving lockers available for temporary bookings.
The Yellowbox system allowed AICD staff to have the choice of accessing and opening their locker through their existing access swipe card and/or their mobile phone, via the Serraview Engage App. These seamless methods of access were driven by integrations with the building swipe card (identifying the relevant RFID tag) and the Serraview Engage app (iOFFICE + SpaceIQ workplace app to reserve desks, rooms and access workplace resources).
The wireless nature of the Yellowbox smart lock, allowed for a simple retrofit and replacement of the existing key locks. This allowed AICD to retain their existing lockers, whilst reducing administration costs and providing a better and more flexible locker system for their employees and management staff.
