The Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC), headquartered in Sydney, is the national body dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights across the country.
When the AHRC moved into a new speculative suite, the space met all their needs—except for one challenge: managing 200 lockers spread across two levels, all equipped with outdated combination locks. These locks created multiple issues, including a frustrating user experience, the need for manual tracking, and time-consuming audits.
Seeking a modern solution, the AHRC partnered with Yellowbox to retrofit the existing lockers. Yellowbox Wireless locks, designed to fit into the pre-existing combination lock holes, provided a seamless upgrade.
The user experience was transformed from manually entering codes twice a day to simply tapping an access card at a kiosk to open a locker. Additionally, employees who forgot their cards could still access their lockers through a mobile app, adding convenience and flexibility.
The biggest win, however, came from automating locker management. New employees and visitors can now self-book lockers directly at the kiosk, and multi-access options provide even greater ease of use. The lockers currently operate at 88% capacity without requiring administrative oversight.
Thanks to the Yellowbox solution, the AHRC has saved an estimated 500 hours annually in locker management tasks and another 742 hours for users, who no longer need support for forgotten codes or access issues.
